Code: 56072Product detailed description
Vilgain Iron Goddess Oolong - a premium, partially oxidized tea with a rich history and a delicate floral flavor
Vilgain Iron Goddess, also known as Tie Guan Yin ("Iron Goddess of Mercy"), isa traditional Chinese oolong from the Anxi region of Fujian province. It is a partially oxidized tea with an oxidation level of 35-40 %, which makes the tea still fresh, while at the same time fuller and more intense in flavor. The leaves are tightly rolled into tiny "pearls" and when poured, they gradually unfold, releasing delicate notes of flowers, fruit and a light nut.
The Legend of the Iron Goddess
The name Tie Guan Yin originates in Chinese legends. One of the most famous tells of a poor peasant named Wei, who took care of a dilapidated temple dedicated to the goddess Guanyin. One night, the goddess appeared to him in a dream and showed him a cave with a treasure - a tea bush, which Wei transplanted into his garden. The tea from these leaves was exceptional and became famous throughout China. The name "Iron Goddess" refers to this story and the deep respect for tradition and nature.
Traditional processing
Tie Guan Yin is carefully processed according to traditional methods. After the young leaves are hand-picked, they are withered in the sun and then indoors to reduce moisture. The leaves are gently shaken in bamboo baskets, which breaks their edges and triggers partial oxidation. Once it reaches approximately 30-40%, the process is stopped by briefly heating. This is followed by rolling the leaves into tiny "pearls" and slow drying at low temperatures, which preserves the aroma, softness and rich active ingredients.
A rich floral taste ideal for multiple infusions
Iron Goddess Oolong is characterized by a floral, slightly sweet taste with a slightly buttery undertone. Thanks to partial oxidation, it has a richer body than classic green teas, but at the same time remains fresh and harmonious. Tightly rolled leaves allow for multiple infusions - each time new layers of flavor are released.
Benefits for body and mind
Tie Guan Yin is valued not only for its taste, but also for its content of polyphenols, flavonoids and L-theanine. These natural substances contribute to a number of positive effects, the subject of scientific research is their positive function in supporting digestion and natural fat metabolism in combination with the caffeine it contains. Regular consumption of oolong contributes to overall vitality and clear mind.
Recommended preparation
Use 6-7 g of tea per 500 ml of water at 90-95 °C and let steep for 2-3 minutes. Thanks to the tightly rolled leaves, Tie Guan Yin is ideal for multi-infusion preparation - from one batch you get 3 to 5 infusions, each revealing a different flavor dimension.
