BIO Yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis) 100 %

Preparation instructions
Preparation in a teapot:

1. Put 5g of mate (2-3 teaspoons) in a 250ml teapot and pour a small amount of cold water so that the leaves absorb the water and a "thin gruel" is formed.
2. This step ensures that the high temperature does not affect the taste and properties of the mate.
3. Then bring 250ml of water to the boil, let it cool to 70–80°C and pour over mate.
4. Stew for 5 minutes, strain and drink.

Preparation in a calabash:

1. Fill the calabash 2/3 full with mate.
2. Cover the calabash with your palm, turn it horizontally, shake it lightly so that the fine parts of the mate reach the bottom and prevent the bombilla from clogging.
3. Return the calabash to its original position so that the mate remains at an angle of approximately 45°.
4. Insert the bombilla in the part where there is no mate. ¨
5. Pour the mate with warm water (50°C) and let it soak in completely.
6. Pour warm water (70–80°C) into the empty space with the bombilla.
7. The drink is now ready. Do not stir the drink anymore and drink through the bombilla.
8. After you have finished drinking the drink, you can pour warm water (70–80°C) over the mate again and repeat this process. The first infusion is very strong.
