Product detailed description
Himalayan salt is a rock salt by origin, yet it differs from ordinary rock salt. Pink salt from the foothills of the Himalayas is mined from a fossil deposit that is approximately 250 million years old. This quarry is located in Pakistan and is the second largest in the world. Thanks to the traditional method of mining salt in whole pieces and subsequent gentle processing, i.e. only washing, drying in the sun, sorting and crushing to the desired size, it retains its natural character. During the entire processing process, Himalayan salt does not encounter any chemistry, unlike ordinary table salt, which is refined or enriched with other ingredients (such as iodine).
The uniqueness of Himalayan salt lies mainly in its age. The place where it is currently mined in Pakistan used to be a primeval ocean. Its purity has not been affected by human activity, as is the case with today's seas and oceans.
Uses
Pink salt has a milder taste than Himalayan black salt and is suitable for both hot and cold cooking.
Do you know what the differences are between the individual types of salt?
According to the method of obtaining salt, we distinguish between rock salt and sea salt. Rock salt is obtained from deep or surface mines, where it crystallized, while sea salt is obtained by evaporation from seawater and subsequent crystallization. We also distinguish between natural and refined salt. Natural salt is any salt that is essentially not subject to industrial processing. In contrast, we are talking about refined salt, or if you prefer, industrially chemically processed salt, when the final product undergoes multiple stages of processing.
Country of origin: Pakistan
