In South America, Yerba Maté is often referred to as the "drink of the Gods" and will win you over with its slightly bitter taste, which comes from saponins naturally found in yerba. Since many of us need to stimulate the brain and support mental performance daily, yerba is ideal for everyday drinking. One dose of yerba (2–3 tablespoons) can be poured over multiple times during the day, making it perfect for work or study. Thanks to its properties, yerba maté has gained popularity worldwide, including Europe, where it is a great alternative to coffee.

How to prepare Yerba?

Yerba can be poured multiple times without a significant loss of effects. Typically, one portion can make up to 6 infusions. There is no need to use new yerba for each gourd. If you're sensitive to caffeine, we recommend starting with just one spoonful and adding more later. For traditional preparation, you’ll need a calabash and a bombilla, which are also available in our e-shop. If you don’t have a kettle with temperature control, consider getting a thermometer.

1. If you’re a beginner, start with 2–3 tablespoons. Experienced users can use 4–5 tablespoons.

2. Pour a little water into the calabash to moisten the leaves. Meanwhile, heat the water to 70–80°C.

3. Once the water is ready and the leaves are moistened, fill the calabash to the brim.

4. Let it steep for at least 3 minutes, then enjoy sipping it through the bombilla throughout the day.

5. You can re-infuse yerba multiple times until it loses its flavor.
